

Rosh Beit Sabrina Sojourner
Shaliakh Tzibur and Community Chaplain Sabrina Sojourner has been leading services, teaching, and cultivating curiosity within Judaism for nearly 20 years. She’s been a featured speaker, scholar-in-residence, and faculty at synagogues, conferences, retreats, and Shabbatons across the country. Most recently, the Forward included her on their Shortlist of “seven American Jews who fascinated” them in 2021. Based in Rockville, MD, she serves as the Spiritual Leader for Revitz House, a residence of the Charles E. Smith Life Communities. In 2018, she launched “Training the Heart to Listen,” a conversational approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Also in 2018, in recognition of her leadership and independent scholarship, Sabrina was appointed as the Midrashist-in-Residence, National Havurah Institute and received three fellowships: Selah Leadership Fellowship, Bend the Arc (June 2018); Jewish Women of Color Resilience Circle, Dimensions Educational Consulting and Ashburn Seminary (March 2019); and Hineni Leadership Fellowship (May 2019).
