Passports Free Ticket Program

At Theater J we believe access to art is a right, not a privilege. Our Passports Free Ticket Program is designed to provide meaningful access to art to populations that are historically under served by arts organizations. Every season, Theater J provides over 400 free tickets to clients of homeless and women’s shelters, low-income senior citizens, and students throughout the DC metro area. Through this commitment to opening our doors for everyone in our community, we aim to support our partner organizations as they provide care for the whole individual.

Theater J’s Community Access Ticket program allows DC, Maryland, and Virginia EBT cardholders to purchase tickets to any Theater J performance for $5 per person.

Discounts

To take advantage of Theater J discounts, you may choose the appropriate discount when purchasing online or by phone.

For most shows, we offer a limited number of Pay-What-You-Choose and Preview performances during the first week of the run. A Preview performance is an opportunity for the cast and crew to fine tune the show based on the response of a live audience. Sometimes there will be changes made prior to opening night, but it’s still a full performance with all elements in place. Tickets to $43 previews go on sale as soon as single tickets are available.

If you would like to purchase Pay-What-You-Choose tickets in advance, you may choose from the prices available online. If you would like to pay a different price, you may do so on the day of the performance, in person at the ticket office. Walk up sales begin 1 hour before the performance start time, cash only, and limit of two tickets per person.

Members of the Edlavitch DCJCC, Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia, and Bender JCC of Greater Washington receive $10 off full price tickets* when purchasing online or by phone.

As a member of the Blue Star Theatres Program, Theater J offers a discount of 20% off tickets* to military personnel and their immediate families using the promo code SERVICE20. Theater J now offers $25 tickets to all full-time and part-time students with the promo code STUDENTS25.

Theater J also offers teachers, school administration, and personnel a discount of 30% off tickets* using the promo code ED30. This code cannot be combined with other discounts.

For our local creatives, Theater J is now offering $25 tickets with the promo code INDYFOLK25.
