Learn how clothes become costumes and can even tell stories in this brand-new class with Ivania Stack, a top DC costume designer (whose credits include Theater J favorites The Jewish Queen Lear, Queens Girl in the World, and many more). Participants will examine how what we wear influences the ways that others see us, learn how clothing shapes characters, plays, and performances, get a window into the costume design process, and analyze costume choices in a filmed production. With Ivania’s sharp eye for detail and endless creativity, each session will feature a combination of lectures, discussions, and easy activities you can do from home. No design experience required—this class is for everyone looking to see clothing more keenly, onstage or off.

Please note: Students will be required to subscribe to BroadwayHD and/or purchase online access to one or more plays.
